While we strive to maintain a high standard in what we offer we are still rooted in the guest farm tradition. We don’t pretend to be an any-number-of-star-lodge, but rather want to make you feel comfortable in the traditional and more familial Namibian guest farm sense.
Families are welcome. Some bush bungalows can accommodate an extra bed and there is also a family unit close to the restaurant and pool which consists of two rooms with a connecting door. Each room has got its own bathroom. There is room for two adults and up to 3 or even 4 children depending on their age.
We strongly believe in an equal, diverse and free society and warmly welcome persons of any orientation, background or identity to enjoy a safe stay at our facilities. We absolutely do not tolerate bigotry, homophobia, racism, sexism or any other form of hate speech on our property.
As you would expect on a farm we have got dogs and cats. While the cats usually do not take much notice of the humans around them our dogs are fond of humans. Usually they are with Harry & Sonja, but can be found around in the entertainment area sometimes and will also accompany you on your hike up Klein Waterberg if they notice you setting off. They know the trail and where to find water, which means they do take care of themselves and will not be a bother.
In as much as some of our guests might not like being asked for a refundable “key deposit” at check-in we ask for your understanding. Namibia is a big country and chasing keys which accidentally remained in cargo pants pockets, handbags or backpacks is a mission. We just found that the refundable key deposit of N$ 100.00 is the best reminder for our guests as well as our reception staff.
In our restaurant you will find two long tables rather than small individual tables. In true guest farm style all guests sit together at those shared tables. This tradition goes back to the early days of guest farms when you had a family table with few guests. The concept allows guests to share travel experiences and first-hand information on routes and roads, accommodation and activities.
Due to Covid-19/SARS-COV2, of course, this concept was adjusted. Guests are seated with the required distance and the official health and safety protocol is observed.
